What happened to Firefox Send?

Firefox Send was Mozilla's encrypted, expiring, account-free file sharing tool. Mozilla took it offline in summer 2020 after abusive users exploited it to distribute malware and run phishing attacks, and announced in September 2020 that the service would not relaunch. If you landed here looking for a Send replacement, EasyBin is built on the same formula.

Two ways to send

Quick PIN — a short 4–12 digit code that is both the retrieval code and the decryption secret. Ideal for moving a file between your own phone and laptop in seconds.

Secure link — a 64-byte token split in two: the server sees only a hash of the verification half, while the decryption half stays in your URL fragment. The server can never read your content. See how the encryption works and the full feature guide.

Why not WeTransfer or Dropbox for this?

WeTransfer and Dropbox are built for collaboration and storage: links stay live for days, accounts are part of the flow, and encryption keys are provider-managed. EasyBin is the opposite trade — a transfer that exists for minutes and then destroys itself. Use storage services to keep files; use EasyBin to hand one over.

Send your first file in 4 steps

  1. Open EasyBin on your device — no account needed.
  2. Paste text or attach a file. It encrypts in your browser instantly.
  3. Share the Quick PIN or Secure link with your recipient.
  4. They open it on their device — content decrypts locally and burns after one read.

Is EasyBin a good Firefox Send replacement?

Yes, if you used Send for encrypted, expiring, no-account sharing. EasyBin encrypts files in your browser with AES-256-GCM, lets you set expiry from 10 minutes to 1 day, and deletes the transfer after the first read — the same formula, with proof-of-work challenges and rate limits to resist the abuse that took Send offline.

Do I need an account to send a file?

No. EasyBin has no accounts, no sign-up, and no tracking cookies. Open the site, paste text or attach a file, and share the Quick PIN or secure link.

How big a file can I send?

Files up to 5 MB in both Quick PIN and secure-link mode, with chunked streaming for larger secure video up to 250 MB. EasyBin is built for moving a file between devices, not cloud storage.

How long do transfers stay available?

You choose: 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, or 1 day. The first successful retrieval deletes the transfer immediately, whichever comes first.
